Toxins: Creating A Safer Tomorrow

When: Tuesday, May 12, 2021 from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Where: The Wakelin Room at the Wellesley Free Library
Summary: For decades American citizens have experienced an increased incidence of
hormone-associated diseases and disorders, caused by endocrine disrupting
chemicals and consequences of human exposure to them. Possible reasons
for those increases include Phthalates and BPA exposures. There are
available alternatives, but how do we find them, and what can

we do to
stop our chemical exposure?

Please join the Wellesley Cancer Prevention Project as we address
“Toxins: Creating A Safer Tomorrow.” Presenting and leading the
discussion will be Dr. Maricel Maffini, Research Assistant Professor at
the Tufts University School of Medicine, Department of Anatomy & Cellular
Biology. Dr. Maffini, along with her colleagues Professor Carlos
Sonnenschein, M.D. and Professor Ana Soto, M.D., led the cutting-edge
research that identified the link between chemicals and the disruption to
our endocrine systems.
