The Year of the Child Lecture Series 2011-2012

will include topics that may affect children’s health from prenatal & early childhood through the teenage years. This three-part lecture series will provide tools and information to promote the health and well-being of children as well as the reduction of behavioral, chronic health, and cancer risks. The following developmental stages will be discussed by experts in the field of child development and environmental experts:

  • Part 1: Early Childhood Years pre-natal to pre-K: Preventative measures for healthy development of mind & body.
  • Part 2: Elementary School Years: Well-being, nutrition, & environmental risks to healthy development.
  • Part 3: Adolescent & Teenage Years: Self-esteem, chemical exposure & environmental risks.

The Lecture & Forum Series will be held at the Wellesley Free Library on the dates below. Each lecture is free and open to the public and will be held from 7 – 8:30 pm:

  • Tuesday, October 11th, 2011
  • Tuesday, February 7th, 2012
  • Tuesday, May 8th, 2012
