Participate and Volunteer

The WCPP was founded in 1997, and received our non-profit status in 2003. Our mission is to raise awareness of the relationship between environmental issues and the incidence of cancer, with the goal of reducing health risk factors for the community. We have also found that, through our website and social media fan base, we have reached beyond our community.

Recent forums include topics on environmental links to cancer, safe cosmetics, nutrition in children and its effect on development, plastics exposure, acupuncture and its complimentary benefits to western medicine and chemicals found in our food and water to name a few.

Additionally, our new Meals2Heal meal delivery service is a new service for our community that differs from the frozen meal delivery programs in that meals are prepared fresh by local area restaurant partners and delivered by WCPP volunteers.  We have teamed up with Newton Wellesley Hospitals’ Nutrition Department to promote this service to people undergoing treatment in our community and encourage volunteers to contact us with their interest in participating as drivers and/or program coordinators.

We encourage individuals interested in environment, health and community to participate on our Board or become a volunteer so that we can increase the number of programs we present to the community and become more active in promoting our mission.  If you have a commitment to cancer prevention and a dedication to health and your community, please share your skills with us and email for more information on board and volunteer positions at info@wcpponline

  1. Good afternoon,

My name is Sandy Foster and I would enjoy re-engaging with the WCPP. I worked with Theresa Keresztes many years ago and am grateful for her introduction to the organization. I have spent the past several years working in the non-profit space and hope to provide support with mission delivery and/or development. I will be moving from the area in August and am eager to contribute in any way I can in the meantime.

Thank you, in advance, for considering how I might be of service. Looking forward to it!

    1. Hi Sandy,

So sorry for just reaching out to you now! We have been busy as of late and have only had time now to read messages. We’re sad to hear you only have a few months left in the area. As such, we recognize that you have limited time and must be extremely busy at this point getting ready for the move. But we would appreciate you spreading the word about WCPP to your colleagues, family, and friends. However, if you are still interested in being involved for the time you have left here, I would be happy to speak with the Board of Directors to see how you can become involved.

Thank you for your interest and dedication to supporting our mission!

      Warm Wishes.

  7. How long does a copyright last on newspaper articles?. . If a service copies newspapers articles and then posts it in a database on the Internet, is there also a copyright on the Internet content?.
